Pretzel Shortbread Bars, Tarted Up



These came out pretty tasty if I do say so myself.

I found the recipe in the latest issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine. The picture grabbed me, pulled me in, & whispered "I'll be so delicious. You NEED me! Everyone will love them".  So what else could I do but make them?

I made them as written and ...... meh.  Just ok, a little too sweet,  & kinda bland. Not the sweet, salty, sex up my taste buds experience I was expecting. Kind of like finally kissing that hot guy you've been fantasizing about flirting with & there's no spark. Very disappointing.

Luckily, a generous drizzle of dark chocolate and a light sprinkle of sea salt transformed them into all they could be.
